Quick ways to find out what version of Windows you have

When buying new software, it is important to check if the software
is compatible with the version of Windows you have installed. But what if you’re
not 100% sure what version of Windows you have? This article advises some quick
ways to check your current version of Windows installed so you can be sure of
compatibility when choosing software.
Winver
If you type winver in your search bar and then select/click
on winver (run command)a this list’s what version of Windows is on your machine.
It also includes what build of Windows is on your machine.
The second way we can check the Windows version also has a
useful comprehensive list of what hardware your machine has. This can also help
when checking compatibility for software. Normally when purchasing software
there will be a minimum hardware specification. This lists the minimum spec of
hardware the software will run on. It is beneficial to the running of any
software that your hardware is better than the minimum spec. The spec will normally
include Processor, Ram, Hard drive and display.
System Information
You can check all this information by typing system in the
search bar and select system information

As you will see there is a lot of information available, in
the first few fields it lists your Windows version and build just as winver. If
you scroll down the list, you will find hardware info about your machine such
as make and model, processor, available Ram, pc name etc. All this information
can be checked against a minimum spec before purchasing your software.
Activation screen
The third and final way we will explain how to access your windows version is on the Windows activation screen.
If you type activation in the search bar and select
activation settings you will be met with the Windows activation screen
As you can see at the top of the activation screen it lists your current version of Windows. This is basic information but another quick way to check what version of Windows you have installed.
